Our Story
The inspiration behind Afton Street first struck Zach and Sarah during a trip to Los Angeles in 2017. Walking along Abbot Kinney Boulevard, the couple was surrounded by people sporting laidback looks straight from the pages of their favorite fashion blogs. Flowy dresses paired with sandals, graphic tees with distressed denim, strappy tops with wide leg pants – Zach and Sarah were smitten with the relaxed vibe.
Once back home, the pair struggled to find the same styles they’d seen out west. Their local stores simply didn’t offer the effortless pieces they were looking for. Zach and Sarah then turned online, only to be met with more of the same – clothes that were either too flashy or uncomfortably stiff.
That’s when they decided to take matters into their own hands. Zach and Sarah began curating their own collection of comfy, California-cool apparel. They reached out to designers and manufacturers to reproduce the soft, lived-in fabrics and silhouettes they loved.
In 2022, the first Afton Street shop opened in their hometown. Word spread quickly about their unique inventory. Soon enough, folks were coming from all around to get their hands on Zach and Sarah’s custom comfort pieces.
The demand became so high that Zach and Sarah decided to expand their business online. Aftonstreet.shop was born, giving fashion fans across the country access to the cozy-chic style that started it all.
